40 years Theaterhaus Stuttgart - what a proud birthday! And it's a matter of honour that the two Theaterhaus companies also send an extra sparkling congratulations to the parent company. Inspired by the great tradition of the Theaterhaus as a concert venue, The Fireworks Project set off ten colorful dance rockets in the first part of the evening. The new creations are all based on pieces of music that not least represent the artistic identity of the Theaterhaus with its illustrious jazz tradition. They will be transformed into dance by star choreographers Mauro Bigonzetti, Virginie Brunelle, Stijn Celis, Dominique Dumais, Andonis Foniadakis, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger, Barak Marshall, another choreographer and Sofia Nappi.
After this veritable firework display of world premieres, the second part after the interval will take a grateful look back at important stages of the Theaterhaus company - with revivals of Marco Goecke's moving solo Infant Spirit from Grandes Dames and Hans van Manen's fast-paced classic Solo for three (!) dancers from the second Gauthier Dance program High Five from 2008. It goes without saying that Eric Gauthier has nevertheless included a twist or two. Andonis Foniadakis will expand his Bolero for 14 dancers, with all the JUNIORS and eight members of the main company. And Lickety-Split, originally one of the seven pieces from Lucky Seven from 2011, will now be danced by the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS in the brand new version from Dream Team.
